My beloved and I went out in search of bluebells this afternoon – I worked some overtime so we didn’t set out until quite late. We started from Shipbourne common and it was only as we reached the first patch of bluebells that I realised that the camera battery was flat – so the above is the only photograph. The first part of the walk was along the Greensand Way, past Ightham Mote, and through some beautiful woodland. Just before we started down the hill on the last stretch into Underriver, we looked down the hill and saw – a tiger!! It was some sort of carving – but looked very realistic. We walked on down into Underriver. Last century – pre childbirth and all that – Phil and I used to come from London and walk through Knole Park and go to the White Rock Pub in the village. Ever since we have meant to come back and have dinner there -and despite several visits we never have – one day!
We stopped for a pint (or was it two?) then set off on the way back – it was a peaceful evening, just as the sun was setting, and we really enjoyed the walk back.
